Nana Mizuki is joining the cast of The World's Strongest Witch anime as Yggdrasil, the spirit of the World Tree, making her debut in the show's first episode when it airs October 7.

The series adapts Mochimaru Sakaki's light novel, which began as a web serial on Shōsetsuka ni Narō in May 2022 before Square Enix published it in print. Yen Press is releasing the English translation, with the third volume arriving November 10. The story follows Lorna, a young woman kicked out by her family for manifesting what seems like a useless ability—until she discovers she can access an "Internet" cheat guide that lets her acquire rare equipment and valuable resources.

Mizuki joins a supporting cast that includes Azusa Tachibana as the protagonist Rona Hermit, Fairouz Ai as Erimina, and Kana Hanazawa as Aries Tear Bluemoon, among others. Jōji Furuta directs at studios Bridge and Aisle, with series scripts by Shoji Yonemura and character designs by Yūki Morimoto.

The production includes a strong creative team behind the scenes. Arisa Okehazama, who composed music for The Apothecary Diaries and Jujutsu Kaisen, is handling the soundtrack. The opening theme "Eikyōryoku∞Idol" (Infinitely Influential Idol) is performed by HoneyWorks feat. HaKoniwalily, while Rokudenashi provides the ending theme "Hoshi o Muguru" (Traversing the Stars).

The anime will premiere on Tokyo MX, BS11, and TV Aichi on October 7, with MBS airing it three days later on October 10. The sixth light novel volume ships the same day as the premiere, giving fans both new source material and the anime's debut simultaneously.
