Unnamed Memory -after the end- Light Novel Series Concludes This December
Kuji Furumiya's Unnamed Memory -after the end- sequel light novel series will wrap up with its eighth volume on December 17, 2026. The series has spawned a popular anime adaptation now in its second season on Crunchyroll.

The Unnamed Memory saga is heading toward closure. Dengeki Bunko announced that Kuji Furumiya's Unnamed Memory -after the end- light novel series will conclude with volume eight on December 17, 2026, with volume seven arriving November 17.
The -after the end- sequel kicked off in February 2022 and has run for six volumes through May 2025, with an extra installment arriving earlier this year. An art book collecting chibi artwork, titled Unnamed Memory Archives -after the end-, will also ship in December.
Furumiya originally began the Unnamed Memory story on the web in September 2012 before Kadokawa picked it up for print publication starting in January 2019. The core series ran six volumes between 2019 and 2021, plus one extra volume. The 2020 edition of Takarajimasha's Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! ranked the original novels at number one.
The property has expanded significantly beyond its source material. A manga adaptation by Naoki Koshimizu launched in September 2020 and continues serializing in Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh. Yen Press publishes both the original light novels and manga adaptation in English.
The anime adaptation debuted in April 2024 with a first season that established the story's fantasy romance premise: Oscar, crown prince of the kingdom of Farsas, was cursed as a child to never produce an heir. His search for the powerful witch Tinasha, who can supposedly grant any wish to those who reach the top of her tower, sets the plot in motion—though Oscar's request surprises everyone.
Unnamed Memory Act.2 premiered in January 2025 and continues streaming on Crunchyroll worldwide. The anime's success has kept the franchise in the spotlight even as the light novels prepare their final chapter. With the sequel series ending this year, fans will be watching closely to see whether the anime receives additional seasons to adapt the conclusion or if the series will wrap with the current slate of episodes.
