Safety Guidelines
Our commitment to protecting every participant
Knox Pop Con prioritizes participant safety in all programming, events, and activities. This page details our safety protocols, participant expectations, and how parents can partner with us to maintain secure, welcoming environments.
Supervision Standards
Every Knox Pop Con program maintains appropriate adult supervision ratios based on participant ages. For youth programs (ages 1-13), we follow childcare industry standards of 1 adult per 10 children.
Two-Deep Leadership: No adult is ever alone with a minor participant. Multiple adults are always present or visible.
Staff Verification
All staff and volunteers working directly with minors undergo:
Background Checks
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation & Sex Offender Registry verification.
Youth Training
Mandatory training on boundaries and reporting obligations.
Emergency Procedures
Knox Pop Con maintains written emergency response plans for fire, severe weather, and medical situations. Staff receive annual training on these procedures.
Parent Notification: During emergencies, notifications occur through text, email, and phone as quickly as safely possible.
