Always a Catch! Anime Adds Yūko Kaida to Cast
The Always a Catch! anime has cast veteran voice actress Yūko Kaida as Queen Rubini, mother to two of the series' main characters. The adaptation is currently airing on Tokyo MX and BS 11.

The official website for Always a Catch! (Nigashita Sakana wa Ōkikatta ga Tsuriageta Sakana wa Ōkisugita Ken), an anime adaptation of Mayo Momoyo's light novel series, announced that Yūko Kaida will voice Queen Rubini, the mother of princes Renato and Placido.
Kaida joins a strong ensemble cast including Yū Serizawa as Maria Annovazzi, the spirited protagonist, and Atsushi Tamaru as Prince Renato. Saori Hayami, Shūichirō Umeda, and Natsuki Hanae round out the supporting cast.
The series follows Maria, a duke's daughter who spent her youth mastering martial arts instead of pursuing marriage. After her younger brother arrives and takes her place as heir, Maria decides it's time to find a husband—only to discover she's running out of options. Her search leads her abroad, where she encounters Prince Renato. A mix-up over a supposed engagement quickly spirals into chaos, but Renato finds himself oddly drawn to Maria after she single-handedly defeats an entire bandit pack. It's a romantic comedy where combat skills are apparently more attractive than traditional feminine grace.
The anime is produced by TROYCA under director Akira Oguro, known for his work on Giant Beasts of Ars. Michiko Yokote handles the series scripts, bringing experience from Ao-chan Can't Study! and Call of the Night, while character designer Isamu Suzuki previously worked on Shinobi no Ittoki.
The opening theme "Chikai wa Kyun to" is performed by HoneyWorks featuring Airi Suzuki, with Yoshino handling the ending theme "DEAD OR LOVE."
Always a Catch! premiered on April 1 on Tokyo MX and BS 11. The English manga adaptation is published by Square Enix Manga & Books, making the series accessible to international readers interested in the source material before or during the anime's run.
