Candy Caries Anime Streams on Prime Video After TBS Premiere
Wit Studio and director Tomoki Misato's original stop-motion comedy Candy Caries began streaming on Amazon Prime Video across multiple regions following its TBS debut. The series follows a cavity living inside a candy-loving child's mouth.

Wit Studio's quirky stop-motion comedy Candy Caries is now available on Amazon Prime Video in North America, Oceania, Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Central Asia. The anime premiered on TBS on April 15 and dropped its first episode on Prime Video the following day, with the YouTube channel also offering worldwide access to the premiere (outside select territories).
Director Tomoki Misato (Pui Pui Molcar) helms this original series about Ame, a young girl with a serious sweet tooth, and Cariesβthe cavity living rent-free in her mouth. The comedy centers on Caries' chaotic daily life inside Ame's mouth, where the cavity calls her "Mama" and frequently turns her body into his personal playground.
Misato describes Candy Caries' animation style as "semi three-dimensional," using plastic board and acrylic to create a look that's flat like an illustration but retains a plump, dimensional quality. The technique builds on Misato's stop-motion expertise from Pui Pui Molcar, which became a global hit on Netflix after debuting in 2021.
The cast includes Miyuki SatΕ as Ame, Hana Takeda as Caries, and Jin Katagiri as the Mad Dentist. The supporting ensemble features RyΕgo Matsumaru, Kayo Noro, Masahito Yabe, Rie Hikisaka, and Ayaka SaitΕ. Japanese girl group IS:SUE performs the theme song "Telepathy."
Behind the scenes, KenshirΕ Morii (Anime-Gataris) serves as assistant director, while Chiaki Nishinaka (The Ancient Magus' Bride) handles scriptwriting duties. Akari SaitΕ (SpyΓFamily) edits the series, and composer Keigo Hoashi (Summer Time Rendering) provides the soundtrack.
Candy Caries originated as a stop-motion promotional video in 2021, following Wit Studio's establishment of its stop-motion division with Misato in December 2020. This marks Misato's first directorial credit on a full television anime series, expanding his portfolio beyond the beloved car-racing puppets that captured international audiences.
