Bushiroad's Cardfight!! Vanguard franchise has announced a fresh manga series to keep momentum building toward its 15th anniversary celebration. Cardfight!! Vanguard Full Fighters launched in the May 2026 issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Coro Coro Comics, with artist Makoto Daienbō at the helm.

Daienbō, who previously illustrated Cardfight!! Vanguard Skyride for the same magazine from December 2023 through March 2026, brings experience with the franchise's manga adaptations. The new series introduces two protagonists with contrasting personalities: Asahi Hyūga, a social gamer who builds friendships easily but struggles academically, and Yoru Getsudō, a serious competitor who prefers solitude but constantly seeks new winning strategies. Both are newcomers to the Vanguard card game, setting up their journey of discovery as the manga's central storyline.

The manga arrives during a bustling period for the franchise. The anime series Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez Genma Seisen-hen (Phantom Star Battle Arc) wrapped in April after a 12-episode run, while Cardfight!! Vanguard Divinez Unmei Seisen-hen (The Fated Star Battle Arc) is heading to Japanese theaters on October 2. A completely new television anime series is also scheduled for 2027, specifically timed to mark the franchise's 15th anniversary milestone.

The timing reflects Bushiroad's strategy to keep the Vanguard universe fresh across multiple formats. The franchise's recent anime outputβ€”spanning the "D Series" that began in 2021β€”has established a consistent release schedule through various seasons and arcs. By introducing new manga content alongside theatrical releases and upcoming anime, Bushiroad continues building entry points for both longtime players and newcomers interested in the card game's universe.

For fans of card game anime, Cardfight!! Vanguard Full Fighters offers another chance to explore the competitive world through manga storytelling, with Daienbō's proven track record suggesting readers can expect dynamic character development and engaging card battle sequences.
