My Hero Ultra Impact, the mobile game based on the popular My Hero Academia series, will be shutting down its servers on May 18, 2025.

The game originally launched in February 2022, giving fans a chance to experience the world of U.A. High School and Pro Heroes through mobile gameplay. Players could collect character cards featuring their favorite heroes and villains from Kohei Horikoshi's superhero series.

Mobile games based on popular anime franchises have become increasingly common in recent years, allowing fans to engage with their favorite series between anime seasons. My Hero Ultra Impact joined other My Hero Academia games in the mobile space, offering card-based gameplay mechanics.

The shutdown comes after just over two years of service, which is relatively short for mobile games in the anime space. While the specific reasons for the closure haven't been detailed, mobile game shutdowns often occur due to declining player engagement or revenue.

For current players, this means any in-game progress, character collections, and purchases will be lost when the servers go offline in May. Many mobile games offer compensation or migration options during shutdowns, though details about any such plans haven't been announced yet.

My Hero Academia fans still have plenty of ways to enjoy the franchise, with the main anime series continuing and various other games available across different platforms.
