Konami announced that English-subtitled remasters of two beloved Prince of Tennis romance games are heading to modern platforms this summer. Both The Prince of Tennis Sweet School Festival β™‘-40 and more... and The Prince of Tennis Doki Doki Survival eternal passion will launch July 30 on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

The English versions will be download-only across all platforms. Both remasters feature updated visuals and additional content beyond the original releases.

Sweet School Festival holds particular significance as a 20th anniversary remaster. The original game dropped on PlayStation 2 back in December 2005, followed by an enhanced "More Sweet Edition" for Nintendo DS in 2010. The Doki Doki Survival series has an even longer historyβ€”the first game launched on PS2 in December 2006, with its sequel arriving the following January. Nintendo DS owners later got a compilation of both games in 2011.

For those unfamiliar with these titles, they're visual novel-style romance games that blend the tennis action fans know from the anime and manga with dating sim mechanics. They've remained fairly niche outside Japan, making these English-subtitled versions a significant localization effort from Konami.

This news comes as the Prince of Tennis franchise continues to find new audiences. While the mobile game Prince of Tennis II: RisingBeat shut down service last year (its English version ended in May 2022), the core franchise remains active through the anime adaptations and merchandise. The original manga is still one of the most recognizable sports series worldwide, particularly among fans who grew up with the early 2000s anime boom.

Konami has already shared Japanese trailers for both remastered games showcasing the updated graphics and gameplay features. For longtime fans of the series and visual novel enthusiasts looking for something sports-adjacent, marking July 30 on your calendar makes sense.
