Saint Seiya Creator Launches New Tenkai-hen Manga Series

Masami Kurumada, the legendary creator behind Saint Seiya, is launching a brand new manga series titled Saint Seiya Tenkai-hen on May 14. This marks another exciting chapter in the beloved franchise that has captivated fans for decades.

The announcement comes alongside the release of Saint Seiya Then III: Ketsui (Determination), the third installment in the Saint Seiya Then series, which was published on Thursday.

For those new to the series, Saint Seiya follows young warriors called Saints who fight using mystical armor based on constellations. The original manga ran from 1986 to 1990 and spawned numerous anime adaptations, spin-offs, and movies. Kurumada's work became a cornerstone of action manga, particularly known for its cosmic battles and mythological themes.

The "Tenkai-hen" title suggests this new series will explore heavenly or celestial themes, which fits perfectly with Saint Seiya's cosmic mythology. Kurumada has continued expanding the Saint Seiya universe through various projects over the years, and this new manga represents his ongoing commitment to the franchise.

While specific plot details haven't been revealed yet, fans can expect the same blend of intense battles, mythological elements, and heroic storytelling that made the original series a classic. The May 14 launch date gives both longtime fans and newcomers something to anticipate as the Saint Seiya universe continues to grow.
