Studio Ghibli Films Return to IMAX with 4K Restorations

Studio Ghibli fans are in for a treat as two beloved films return to the big screen in stunning 4K restorations. GKIDS announced that Whisper of the Heart and The Secret World of Arrietty will receive exclusive IMAX theatrical releases across the United States and Canada.
Whisper of the Heart, the coming-of-age story about aspiring writer Shizuku and her dreams of becoming an author, will screen on April 21. This 1995 film, directed by Yoshifumi KondΕ, remains a fan favorite for its heartfelt portrayal of teenage creativity and romance.
Following in May, The Secret World of Arrietty takes audiences into the miniature world of the Clock family on May 19. Directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi in 2010, this adaptation of Mary Norton's "The Borrowers" tells the story of tiny people living secretly beneath the floorboards of a house.
Both films have been carefully restored in 4K resolution, promising viewers an enhanced visual experience that brings Studio Ghibli's detailed animation to life on IMAX screens.
