Tank Chair Manga Gets TV Anime Adaptation for Fall 2026

Manabu Yashiro's Tank Chair manga is officially getting a television anime adaptation, with Bandai Namco Filmworks announcing the project will premiere in Fall 2026.

Polygon Pictures, the studio behind Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 and Ni no Kuni, will handle the animation production. The project brings together an experienced team, with Tadahiro Yoshihira (Kuutei Dragons) and Hiroaki Ando (Ajin) co-directing and writing the script. Yoshihira will also handle series composition duties.

The character designs will be handled by Yuuki Moriyama, known for his work on Knights of Sidonia, while Kazuma Teshigahara (Kaina of the Great Snow Sea) takes on production design. The music composition will be handled by an artist whose name begins with "Masa" according to the announcement.

Tank Chair follows a unique premise that has gained attention in the manga community, though specific plot details weren't revealed in the initial announcement. The series represents another collaboration between Bandai Namco Filmworks and Polygon Pictures, continuing their partnership in bringing distinctive manga properties to the screen.

With the announcement coming nearly two years ahead of the planned premiere, fans can expect more details about the cast, additional staff, and story elements to be revealed as production progresses. The Fall 2026 release window gives the production team ample time to develop what could be another standout series from this creative partnership.
