BTS Returns to Tokyo Dome After 7 Years with 110,000 ARMY
BTS performed two nights at Tokyo Dome on April 17-18, marking their first Japan concert in seven years. The group drew 110,000 fans and performed tracks from their latest album ARIRANG alongside fan-favorite hits.

BTS is back in Tokyo. The septet took over Tokyo Dome on April 17-18 for their first Japanese concert since 2019, welcoming 110,000 ARMY members across two nights as part of their "BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'." The performances marked a major milestone for the group's global tour, which kicked off in South Korea earlier this month and will span 34 cities with 79 total dates.
The setlist leaned heavily on the group's March-released fifth album ARIRANG, blending new material with established hits. The show opened with "Hooligan," followed by tracks "Aliens" and "Run BTS," immediately setting an energetic tone. BTS mixed performances from the new album including "they don't know 'bout us," "Like Animals," "SWIM," and "Merry Go Round" with beloved classics like "FAKE LOVE" and "MIC Drop."
The 360-degree center stage setup created an intimate atmosphere despite the venue's massive capacity. Onstage moments included the members greeting fans in Japanese, with J-Hope saying "Hisashiburi" (it's been a while) and noting it was their first return to the iconic venue in eight years. Each member expressed genuine emotion about reconnecting with Japanese ARMY, with Jin requesting "Make some noise!" and Jimin sharing his excitement about launching a new tour.
BTS incorporated theatrical production elements tied to ARIRANG's Korean cultural themes, including traditional five-color fabric arrangements, flame effects, and coordinated choreography. The group cycled through costume changes, shifting from sleek black outfits to hip-hop inspired looks as the setlist evolved.
The performances also reached fans beyond the venue through livestreaming and live viewing events worldwide. BTS's return to Japan comes as they continue solidifying their status as one of the most successful touring acts globally. The group has maintained massive momentum since their 2020 Grammy performance and multiple Billboard Hot 100 chart-toppers like "Dynamite" and "Butter," with their influence extending well beyond Asia into mainstream international markets.
