DEAD BOY Unleashes Visual Kei Sound with Debut Single 'DeAd DreAm'
South Korean visual kei band DEAD BOY has officially arrived with their debut music video for 'DeAd DreAm,' dropping June 11. The five-piece group, fronted by experienced musician Yoel, combines metal intensity with electronic elements and diverse vocal styles.

South Korean visual kei band DEAD BOY has officially entered the scene after months of anticipation. Following a cryptic logo teaser in early May, the band revealed their complete lineup and dropped their debut music video for "DeAd DreAm" on May 20, with the single arriving June 11.
The group consists of vocalist Yoel, guitarists KAMI and Darae, bassist Dong Hwan Kim, and drummer 242. They've signed to nO aUTHORITY, the same label home to established acts like Madmans Esprit and Clownus.
Yoel brings serious credentials to the frontman role. Beyond his work with visual kei, he's contributed drums, music production, and video assistance to idol groups NEKIRU and LuciDreaM, plus guitar and vocals to rock band MYORI. He's also worked with Madmans Esprit and maintains an active YouTube channel and film portfolio. Guitarist Darae shares similar experience, having previously worked with NEKIRU and LuciDreaM on guitar duties.
"DeAd DreAm" gives listeners a clear picture of what DEAD BOY delivers. The track opens as a heavy metal piece before evolving into something far more layered. Yoel's vocal range steals the spotlight—he moves effortlessly between ferocious yells, brutal low growls, clean synthetic passages, and operatic lines, all within a single song. The dual guitar attack from KAMI and Darae hits hard, especially during breakdowns, while Dong Hwan Kim's bass and 242's drumming anchor everything with serious weight. Electronic elements weave throughout, adding groove to the chorus and featuring an eccentric synth solo from Yoel himself.
The band's dark, rebellious aesthetic matches the music's intensity. Their artist photos lean into visual kei's dramatic imagery, setting expectations for what's to come.
DEAD BOY will make their live debut opening for Madmans Esprit on June 28 at KT&G Sangsangmadang in Seoul. Both international and domestic tickets are available, making it an accessible entry point for anyone curious about what this new act brings to South Korea's rock and visual kei landscape.
