Fumiya Fujii Announces Arena Shows with 360-Degree Center Stage Setup
The former Checker vocalist will perform surrounded by audiences at Osaka-jo Hall and Nippon Budokan this October.

Fumiya Fujii has announced arena concerts featuring a unique 360-degree center stage setup at two of Japan's most iconic venues this October.
The veteran artist will perform at Osaka-jo Hall on October 10, followed by back-to-back shows at Tokyo's Nippon Budokan on October 17 and 18. All three concerts will use a center stage configuration, placing Fujii in the middle of the venue surrounded by audience members on all sides.
For international fans, Fujii is best known as the former lead vocalist of the rock band Checker, which dominated Japanese charts in the 1980s with hits like "Julia ni Heartbreak." After going solo in 1987, he's maintained a successful career spanning nearly four decades, known for his distinctive voice and theatrical stage presence.
The center stage format represents an ambitious production choice, offering fans an intimate experience despite the large venue sizes. Osaka-jo Hall holds approximately 16,000 people, while Nippon Budokan can accommodate around 14,000. This setup will create a more personal connection between Fujii and his audience, with no traditional "back" to the venue.
These shows continue Fujii's busy touring schedule as he approaches his 40th anniversary as a solo artist. The concerts promise to be special events for longtime fans who've followed his journey from Checker's heyday through his enduring solo career.
