Japan's music landscape is heating up with several major announcements across the coming months. Here's what to keep an eye on.

Eriko Hashimoto Returns With Bold New Album

Singer-songwriter Eriko Hashimoto is releasing her third full album OVER LIFE on July 22, marking a significant creative departure. Known for her lyrics-first approach to songwriting, this project marks her first time working primarily with a music-forward process. The album features 11 tracks, including previously released songs "Spring's Fault," "Zone 30," and "Storyteller," alongside new material like "Over Life" and "Here," which debuted at her January tour.

Hashimoto reflected on the album's creation: "Even when I think a song is good, I can't understand its true strength until after arrangement, recording, mixing, and mastering. I believe the songs on this album have genuinely been refined through that entire process."

A deluxe edition through the online shop ROCKET-EXPRESS includes exclusive merchandise: a custom t-shirt, pot mat, signed photo bookmark, a nine-part essay collection titled "The Dam of Time," and sticker artwork. The special website will feature detailed production interviews.
