Kis-My-Ft2's Nikaido and Cho Tokkyuu's Takamatsu Cast in New Drama
Kis-My-Ft2's Takashi Nikaido and Cho Tokkyuu's Aloha Takamatsu will star as cheating husbands in TV Tokyo's upcoming late-night drama "Sareta Gawa no Fukushuu ~Doumei wo Musunda Tsuma-tachi~" (Revenge of the Betrayed Side: Wives Who Formed an Alliance).
The drama, premiering April 1st in the late-night slot, follows wives who band together to get revenge on their unfaithful husbands. Both Nikaido and Takamatsu will play the unfaithful husband roles - a departure from their usual idol images.
For international fans, Kis-My-Ft2 (Kisumai) is a seven-member Johnny's group that debuted in 2011, known for their energetic performances and variety show appearances. Cho Tokkyuu is a younger eight-member group under Stardust Promotion, active since 2011 with a focus on both music and entertainment.
This casting represents an interesting choice for both performers, as playing morally questionable characters can be risky for idol group members. However, it also shows their acting range beyond their pop idol personas.
The drama's late-night time slot suggests it will target mature audiences with its revenge theme, giving both Nikaido and Takamatsu opportunities to show different sides of their acting abilities. TV Tokyo's late-night dramas often feature edgier content than prime-time shows, making this an intriguing project for fans of both groups to watch.
