Masayuki Suzuki has given his beloved 1984 hit "Shibuya de 5-ji" (5 O'Clock in Shibuya) a contemporary makeover, featuring NMB48 member Shibuya Nagisa as his duet partner.

The updated track, titled "Shibuya de 5-ji (2026 Ver.) feat. Shibuya Nagisa," launched for digital download on March 14, accompanied by a fresh music video on YouTube. The collaboration appears on Suzuki's duet best album "MARTINI DUET DELUXE."

Suzuki, known as the "King of Love Songs" in Japan, originally released the track over four decades ago during his time with the rock band Rats & Star. The song became a staple of 80s Japanese pop culture, capturing the energy and romance of Tokyo's youth scene.

The choice of Shibuya Nagisa as his duet partner carries special significanceβ€”her surname matches the famous Tokyo district featured in the song. As a member of NMB48's Team BII, Shibuya brings a fresh voice to this classic tune while bridging generational gaps between longtime fans and newer audiences.

The music video reportedly showcases modern Shibuya, contrasting the district's current bustling atmosphere with the nostalgic charm of the original song. This release demonstrates how classic J-Pop continues to evolve while honoring its roots, connecting different eras of Japanese music through creative collaborations.
