≠ME's Sakurai Momo Returns to 'Oni Renchan' for Ultimate Karaoke Challenge
≠ME's Sakurai Momo is heading back to Fuji TV's variety show 'Kiji no Oni Renchan' on April 19 to tackle the 'hard mode' karaoke challenge. After clearing the regular course last year, she'll face tougher songs alongside WEST.'s Hamada and singer Jonai Shionkai.

≠ME member Sakurai Momo is returning to Fuji TV's "Kiji no Oni Renchan" on April 19 to test her karaoke skills at the highest difficulty level.
The variety show features a "Sabi Dake Karaoke" segment where challengers must sing the chorus of 10 consecutive J-pop hits without missing a single note to win 1 million yen. This time, the format is elevated—only contestants who've previously cleared the regular 10-song challenge get invited to tackle the "hard mode" lineup of notoriously difficult tracks.
Sakurai made her show debut last September and pulled off the impressive feat of clearing all 10 songs, prompting her to joke about hosting a "Momo Star" celebration party with the show's hosts, comedians Chidori and Kamaichi. Now she's stepping up to the expert tier to see if she can replicate that success.
She won't be alone in the challenge. Joining her are WEST. member Hamada Takahiro, who had an embarrassing 1-song streak on his last attempt and is hungry for redemption, and singer Jonai Shionkai, who's adding her own twist by incorporating Okinawan and Amami vocal techniques called "guin" into every performance. First-time participant Sakurai Toshikazu, a Mr. Children impersonator known as "Oji Sakurai," rounds out the lineup.
The show airs Sunday, April 19 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, with Chidori and Kamaichi hosting and Yusuke Diane providing shadow narration. For Sakurai, it's another chance to prove why she earned that "Momo Star" nickname—though the harder difficulty this time means all bets are off.
