A new residential music production studio opened its doors in Fujieda City, Shizuoka Prefecture on March 22nd. MUSIC inn Fujieda represents the vision of Masafumi Goto, frontman of veteran rock band ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, who established the facility through his nonprofit Apple Vinegar Music Support Organization in 2024.

The studio held its opening ceremony on March 21st before welcoming its first artists the following day. This residential concept allows musicians to stay on-site while working on their projects, creating an immersive creative environment away from urban distractions.

Goto, who has been a fixture in Japan's alternative rock scene since the late 1990s with ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION, has long been an advocate for supporting emerging musicians. His nonprofit organization focuses on providing resources and opportunities for artists who might otherwise struggle to access professional recording facilities.

The Fujieda location puts the studio in a more affordable area compared to Tokyo or Osaka, making it accessible to independent artists and smaller acts. This type of residential studio setup has proven successful internationally, offering musicians the time and space needed for deeper creative exploration.

With Japan's music industry increasingly competitive, initiatives like MUSIC inn Fujieda provide crucial infrastructure for developing talent outside the major label system. The facility represents a growing trend of established artists giving back to the music community that supported their own careers.
