Japanese hip-hop group SIMI LAB is releasing vinyl editions of their first two albums for the first time ever on July 15, 2026. Both "Page 1: Anatomy of Insane" (2011) and "Page 2: Mind Over Matter" (2014) will be available on analog format.

SIMI LAB is bringing their catalog back to basicsβliterally. The Tokyo-based hip-hop group announced that their first two albums will see their debut on vinyl this July 15, marking the first time either record has been pressed to analog.
"Page 1: Anatomy of Insane" (2011) and "Page 2: Mind Over Matter" (2014) will each arrive as full vinyl releases. The first album includes 12 tracks, among them the group's signature songs "Uncommon" and "Show Off." The second album extends to 16 songs and features contributions from jazz saxophonist Shigeo Kikuchi on several tracks.
Formed in 2009 in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, SIMI LAB initially gained attention through their early music videos, particularly "Walk Man." The group has maintained a steady presence in Japan's underground and independent hip-hop scene over the past 15 years.
Both vinyl editions will include the original cover artwork designed by MA1LL, a member of SIMI LAB who handles visual direction for the group. The first album's vinyl will span four sides with the opening track "Intro Anatomy of Insane" kicking things off, while "Page 2" opens with "Intro Mind Over Matter" before moving into the energetic "Avengers."
The vinyl releases represent a natural fit for the group's aestheticβSIMI LAB's music has always carried a classic hip-hop sensibility that translates well to the format. Fans and collectors have been waiting for these albums to become available on analog, and the July release should satisfy longtime listeners looking to own physical copies of the group's foundational work.
Both albums will be available for pre-order ahead of the July 15 release date.
