SixTONES' Variety Show Gets Quirky with Ramen Echo Experiment
SixTONES' variety show Golden SixTONES airs a new episode with actor Shion Shiozun and Neru Nagahama as guests, featuring absurd games like testing whether ramen slurping sounds echo in mountains.

SixTONES' variety show Golden SixTONES airs a new episode on April 19 featuring actor Shion Shiozun and television personality Neru Nagahama as guests. The episode marks the on-screen debut of Shiozun and SixTONES member Kyomoto Taiga, who are the same age and close friends off-camera.
During the episode, Shiozun reveals an unexpected side of Kyomoto that even the group didn't know about. "I thought Taiga was pretty laid-back on set, but he's nothing like that," Shiozun shares, prompting laughs from the studio.
The guests join SixTONES in two games that test observation and reflexes. The first, called "Ramen or NOT Ramen," presents genuinely absurd challenges. For the opening round, the cast travels to Japan's most famous echo spot to determine whether the sound of ramen slurping will bounce back from the mountainside. If it echoes, the answer is "Ramen"; no echo means "NOT Ramen." The twist? The reward for getting it right is actual ramen.
Shiozun, eager to earn his prize, approaches the ridiculous premise with surprising seriousness. "The timing of the slurp mattersβwhether you hit the sound as one block or split it apart affects whether it echoes," he explains earnestly, prompting Kyomoto to respond, "Yeah, you're actually right about that."
The second game, "Motion Ball Kids," challenges players to identify objects falling in the center of a circle. Shiozun, who has baseball experience, initially exudes confidence, but Kyomoto's wild guessing sends everyone into fits of laughter. The cast erupts when Shiozun clutches his stomach, struggling to breathe through the chaos. Nagahama adds to the absurdity with increasingly ridiculous answers.
Golden SixTONES airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on Nippon Television.
