Super Sentai Members Expand Into Acting While Snow Man Explores Tech
Members of the eight-piece dance-vocal group Super Sentai are making moves beyond music, with Yuuki appearing on a variety show and Masahiro Moritsugu landing his first drama series lead role.
Yuuki joins the cast of "Kizunan! ~Namjatown wo Asobi Tsukuse~" (roughly "Bond Up! ~Play Namjatown to the Fullest~"), a variety show airing tonight on TOKYO MX. The show features Yuuki bonding with actors Ryuji Sato, Sogo Nakamura, and Takano from Kishitaka at Tokyo's popular Namjatown theme park.
Meanwhile, Masahiro Moritsugu scores his first leading role in a consecutive drama series. He'll star opposite Hinatazaka46's Mirei Sasaki in "Ano Yoru, Shacho no Kodomo wo Sazukarimashita" ("That Night, I Became Pregnant with the President's Child"), premiering April 16 on MBS and other networks. Moritsugu plays a devoted young heir infatuated with Sasaki's character.
Super Sentai debuted in 2009 and has built a strong following through their energetic performances and variety show appearances, making these acting opportunities a natural next step for the group members.
In other news, Snow Man's Daiske Sakuma teams up with comedian Yuki Himura from Bananaman for "SakuSaku HimuHimu βOshi no Furu Yoruβ" ("The Night Our Favorites Fall"), airing tonight at 11:30 PM. The show focuses on experiencing ultra-realistic virtual spaces using cutting-edge home electronics, combining Sakuma's tech enthusiasm with Himura's comedic timing.
