Tsuyoshi Domoto Celebrates 47th Birthday with Funky Party Live
Singer-songwriter Tsuyoshi Domoto rang in his 47th birthday with an energetic, funk-filled concert at LINE CUBE SHIBUYA in Tokyo, complete with cherry blossom-themed songs and a memorable all-prefectures jump challenge.

Tsuyoshi Domoto marked his 47th birthday with a special concert experience rather than a typical solo show. Performing under his creative project .ENDRECHERI., he hosted a "Happy Birthday Live" at Tokyo's LINE CUBE SHIBUYA on April 12, transforming the venue into a birthday celebration with his band.
The night kicked off with the uplifting funk track "Happy birthday to you me love," setting a celebratory tone from the moment Domoto took the stage in a purple jacket and lace-trimmed shirt. His bandmates, dressed in coordinated bow ties and formal wear, created a festive atmosphere that balanced their usually flamboyant stage presence with elegant sophistication.
Throughout the setlist, Domoto delivered his signature funk-driven sound, including a collaboration with George Clinton titled "Zatsumi" and his personal anthem "4 10 cake," punctuated by dynamic horn arrangements. The concert featured a comedic moment when he abruptly switched to English greetings, eventually admitting he'd reached 47 with characteristic humor and self-deprecation.
One of the night's highlights came when Domoto created a "47 prefectures version" of "Blue Berry," leading the entire audience through a call-and-response where fans jumped alongside him for all 47 Japanese prefecturesβcomplete with celebratory gold confetti cannons firing at the finale.
Recognizing the spring season, Domoto reached back into his catalog for cherry blossom-themed songs, performing "Kurikaesu Haru" (2008) and "Someiyoshino" (2006). The latter featured atmospheric lighting and falling petal visuals, showcasing Domoto's softer side before he picked up his custom purple guitar for an emotionally resonant solo that drew enthusiastic applause.
Domoto reflected on his journey candidly during the show, sharing that at 20, he couldn't have imagined where he'd be at 47. He also teased upcoming creative projects, noting that he's currently busy with new material productionβdescribing the pace as reminiscent of his intensive Junior days. The concert balanced Domoto's evolution as both a vocalist and guitarist while maintaining the playful, inclusive energy that defines his birthday celebrations with fans.
