Vaundy Designs Own Album Art for New Drama Theme Song
Japanese multi-artist Vaundy has created the album artwork for his new single "Ideas Overflowing, Can't Sleep," set to release April 20. The track serves as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama "Sardine Cans, Going to Space," starring Takumi Kitamura.

Vaundy is taking creative control once again with his upcoming single "Ideas Overflowing, Can't Sleep" (ใคใใขใๆบขใใฆ็ ใใชใ), dropping tomorrow, April 20. The multi-instrumentalist personally designed the single's album artworkโsomething he's done throughout his career as part of his broader approach to self-producing his music.
The track is the theme song for the Fuji TV drama "Sardine Cans, Going to Space" (ใตใ็ผถใๅฎๅฎใธ่กใ), which stars actor Takumi Kitamura. The show draws inspiration from a true story about students at a marine high school in Fukui Prefecture working toward the ambitious goal of developing space food. Vaundy crafted a song that mirrors this spirit of wonder and determinationโcapturing that feeling of excitement when facing something difficult and new.
Vaundy has built his reputation as one of Japan's most prolific independent creators. Beyond songwriting and arrangement, he handles his own artwork design and video production. Since uploading music to YouTube in 2019, he's released multiple hit singles including "Monster Flower Song," "Dancer," and "Flower Fortune." He made his NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen debut at the end of 2022, a significant milestone for any Japanese artist.
In 2025, he continued his momentum with the anime opening theme "Reunion" for "The Summer Light Died." Recently, he launched his "Vaundy Dome Tour 2026," making him the youngest male solo artist in history to headline multiple dome venues across Japan. His streaming numbers reflect this successโ17 of his tracks have surpassed 100 million streams on subscription services combined, holding the #1 position among Japanese solo artists.
With "Ideas Overflowing, Can't Sleep," Vaundy adds another chapter to his prolific output, continuing to define contemporary Japanese pop music through his complete creative vision.
