The official website for Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Kikikaikai! Ora no Yōkai Bake-shon (Crayon Shin-chan The Movie: Super Strange! My Yokai Monster Vacation) revealed seven new cast members for the 33rd installment in the 2D animated film series.

The lineup includes:

  • Yūki Kaji as Hyakuemon, a mysterious and intelligent yokai
  • Aya Endō as Mameta, a tanuki becoming curious about humans
  • Hiro Shimono as Karakura, a wary umbrella yokai
  • Inori Minase as Pinko, a powerful yet kindhearted amabie yokai
  • Shunsuke Sakuya as Kumada no Osa, head of the yokai government
  • Mikako Komatsu as Tsuchiko, a yokai with feelings for Hyakuemon
  • Setsuji Satō as Kapparapa Taichō, leader of a yokai peacekeeping organization

These join previously announced cast members including Sairi Itō as Yako, a nine-tailed fox yokai, and Sakamoto from comedy duo Mayurika as a squid yokai baseball player.

The film's story kicks off when the Nohara family travels to Hiroshi's hometown in Akita for a summer fireworks festival. An incident causes yokai to escape from their hidden realm, unleashing chaos across Akita and beyond. The family journeys into the land of yokai itself, discovering a mysterious yet oddly familiar world where they face unpredictable adventures.

Director Masaki Watanabe (Battle Spirits: Heroes, Sakamoto Days) helms the project, while screenwriter Yoshiko Nakamura (Re:ZERO, PriPara) handles the script. Production comes from Shinei Animation, TV Asahi, ADK Emotions, and Futabasha, with TOHO distributing.

The film opens in Japan on July 31, 2026.

This release follows last year's successful installment, Super Magnificent! Scorching Kasukabe Dancers, which earned 633 million yen in its opening four days and sold over 516,000 tickets in Japan.
