A Returner's Magic Should Be Special is heading back for a second season. The anime adaptation of Wookjakga's Korean webtoon will premiere October 7 on Fuji TV's +Ultra programming block, airing Wednesdays at 24:45 (effectively Thursday mornings at 12:45 a.m. JST). The series will also air on Kansai TV starting October 8, followed by Tōkai TV and AT-X on October 10.

Crunchyroll will carry the series for international audiences. In Japan, the anime will stream on d Anime Store and several other domestic services starting October 7, with wider Japanese platform availability from October 11 onward.

The story follows Desir Herman, a magician who gets a second chance at life when he suddenly finds himself thirteen years in the past, just before a catastrophic event that wiped out most of humanity. He must gather his original party of six heroes and prevent the disaster they failed to stop before.

Returning director Taishi Kawaguchi leads the production at Arvo Animation, with writer Takamitsu Kouno back to oversee the scripts. Character designer Hiromi Katō returns alongside composer Kenta Higashiohji. The opening theme "Sorrow" comes from rock band FLOW, while singer-songwriter krage performs the ending theme "Everlasting."

The cast includes returning voice actors Show Hayami as Jord Exarion and Ayako Kawasumi as Priscilla Heisilkeite, plus new addition Tarusuke Shingaki as the Bird Mask. Main protagonist Desir Herman is voiced by Takuma Terashima, with Sayumi Suzushiro, Natsumi Fujiwara, and Asami Seto rounding out the core cast.

Yen Press continues to publish the webtoon in English, describing it as a high-stakes fantasy about second chances and the weight of knowing the future. The first season aired in 2023 and introduced viewers to this world of magic, betrayal, and redemption.
