Anime Expo 2026 is bringing several major world premieres to Los Angeles this summer. The event will host the debut screenings of the Black Torch television anime, adapted from Tsuyoshi Takaki's manga, and a new anime series based on CLAMP's beloved Magic Knight Rayearth manga. Voice actor Rie Takahashi will attend as a guest for the Magic Knight Rayearth premiere.

Beyond these flagship titles, the expo will feature additional high-profile content. Studio Trigger is bringing a "first real look" at Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 for fans eager to see more from the acclaimed sci-fi series. The event will also host U.S. premieres for Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia and Sparks of Tomorrow, with screenings scheduled for July 3.

The guest lineup reflects the breadth of programming on display. Shohei Sakakibara, producer of Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE, and scenario writer Kazutaka Kodaka will participate in a Spike Chunsoft panel on July 3 at 10:30 a.m. PDT. Composer Yūgo Kanno will appear at a STEEL BALL RUN JoJo's Bizarre Adventure panel, while Cherry Magic! manga creator Yū Toyota joins a Square Enix panel.

Anime Expo 2026 runs July 2-5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. With world premieres, exclusive studio presentations, and appearances from creators and voice talent, the event promises substantial announcements for anime fans. For those planning to attend, screening times and locations are available through the official Anime Expo schedule, with specific programming including the Sparks of Tomorrow premiere at 10:00 a.m. PDT on July 3 and the Jaadugar screening at 2:45 p.m. PDT the same day.
