Anime Expo 2026 is bringing a legendary film to North American audiences for the first time. The convention announced it will host the official North American premiere of The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Do You Remember Love? on July 5 at 12:00 p.m. PDT at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The screening caps off a packed convention schedule. Studio BIGWEST will also host a Macross panel earlier in the event on July 2 at 1:00 p.m. PDT, giving fans a chance to learn more about the franchise's legacy.

Macross: Do You Remember Love? stands as one of anime's most important films. Originally released in 1984, it redefined the Macross franchise and remains a cornerstone of mecha anime history. For many North American fans, this screening represents a rare theatrical opportunity to experience the film as intended.

The event is drawing major industry guests. Voice actor Masakazu Morita, known for roles in Bleach and Kingdom, will be in attendance. Voice actress Machico, recognized for her work on Uma Musume: Pretty Derby and Hatsune Miku: Colorful Stage!, is also confirmed.

Beyond the Macross programming, Anime Expo 2026 is hosting an impressive roster of creators and industry figures. The guest list includes game developer Masayuki Yamagishi (CEO of NextNinja), producer Ena Hamabe, Kadokawa executive officer Hiroyuki Watanabe, and voice actor Daisuke Hirose.
