Atlus has officially announced Persona 6, the next mainline entry in its acclaimed role-playing game series, during Sunday's Xbox Games Showcase 2026 livestream. The new game is heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC, Xbox Cloud, and PC via Steam, with additional platform confirmations coming after the initial announcement.

Alongside Persona 6, Atlus revealed Persona 4 Revival—a full remake of the studio's 2008 original. The remake launches February 18, 2027, arriving on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox PC with Xbox Game Pass support, and Steam.

Persona 6 marks the first new numbered entry since Persona 5 shipped for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 in Japan back in September 2016, with a North American release following in April 2017. That game featured animation sequences from Production I.G and became a cultural phenomenon, spawning numerous spin-offs and adaptations. Persona 5 Royal, an enhanced version, released in Japan in October 2019 and came to Western markets in March 2020, eventually reaching Nintendo Switch in October 2022.

The Persona franchise has been a cornerstone of Atlus's portfolio for over two decades. Persona 4, the game being remade, was originally released for PlayStation 2 and gained a devoted following for its mystery-focused narrative and social link system. That system became the blueprint for future entries, allowing players to deepen bonds with characters between dungeon-crawling sessions.

With Persona 6 officially in development and a Persona 4 remake on the horizon, the franchise is entering an exciting new chapter.
