Bandai Namco Cross Store and Gundam Base Open at Mall of America This Week
Bandai Namco Amusement America announced that its Minneapolis locations at the Mall of America will open October 30, delayed one month from the original September 30 date. The openings mark the company's second North American retail footprint after New York City and Chicago.
Bandai Namco Amusement America will open the Bandai Namco Cross Store Minneapolis and The Gundam Base Store Minneapolis at the Mall of America on October 30. The company cited fan patience as it pushed back the original September 30 opening date by one month.
These Minnesota locations join Bandai Namco's earlier U.S. expansion. The Bandai Namco Cross Store Brooklyn opened in February 2025 with 10 department shops featuring different Bandai Namco brands, while the first permanent U.S. Gundam Base store opened in December 2025 at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago in Rosemont, Illinois.
Bandai Namco Amusement operates 13 Bandai Namco Cross Store locations in Japan and has expanded internationally since opening its first overseas store in Camden, London in August 2023. The company also runs Gashapon shops across the UK and has Gundam Base stores in over 30 locations worldwide, including South Korea, mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Germany and the United Kingdom. The first Gundam Base opened in Korea in 2003, with the Tokyo flagship launching in 2017.
