A-1 Pictures has greenlit a television anime for Bless, Yukino Sonoyama's manga about two girls reclaiming their identities in the fashion industry. The adaptation will premiere on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block in January 2027.

Tomohiro Ōno voices Aia Udagawa, a girl groomed for modeling from childhood, while Chiyuki Miura plays Jun Sumisaki, who was bullied over her freckles. The cast reveal came during Saturday's Aniplex One Focus livestream event, where character promotional videos for both leads also debuted.

Shōtarō Kitamura directs at A-1 Pictures, with Takayuki Kikuchi (Solo Leveling, Kaguya-sama: Love is War) assisting. Fukurou Kamiza (Non Non Biyori Nonstop) handles series composition and scripts. Honoka Yokoyama (Oshi no Ko TV 2, Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence) serves as character designer and chief animation director, alongside Tetsuya Kawakami and Reina Iwasaki. Ryō Yoshimata (Somali and the Forest Spirit, After the Rain) composes the music.

Bless debuted in Kodansha's Shonen Magazine Edge in 2022 and now serializes in Monthly Shonen Sirius. The manga has shipped over 1.25 million copies, with volume nine releasing October 8. Kodansha USA Publishing distributes the English version, describing it as "an inspirational fashion manga that asks cutting questions about what it really means to be beautiful—and what it takes to overcome an arbitrary system that seems to respect talent over hard work."

The story follows Aia and Jun as they work to break free from restrictive definitions imposed by industry gatekeepers. Aia was told from birth she was destined for the runway; Jun faced mockery for her natural appearance. Together, they push back against a system that favors genetic lottery over genuine effort.

Amazon Prime Video is also developing a live-action adaptation of the manga, expanding Bless's reach beyond animation.
