Cardcaptor Sakura fans have a new way to engage with the franchise. KaraQ unveiled Cardcaptor Sakura: Omoide no Kagi (Key of Memories), a free-to-play smartphone game launching June 25, with optional in-app purchases.

The game centers on collecting digital miniatures of characters from across the Cardcaptor Sakura series, with over 100 different outfit options available. Once you've collected your favorites, you can arrange them inside customizable room dioramas and decorate the spaces however you'd like. It's a more casual, creative take on the franchise compared to traditional action-based mobile games.

This isn't KaraQ's first venture into Cardcaptor Sakura mobile gaming. The studio previously launched Cardcaptor Sakura: Happiness Memories in October 2019, though that game ended service in June 2020. Hopefully, this new entry has better longevity.

The timing comes as the Cardcaptor Sakura franchise continues to expand. CLAMP's Clear Card sequel manga wrapped up in November 2023 after a seven-year run, with the final compiled volume released in English by Kodansha USA in March 2025. The Clear Card anime adaptation, which aired for 22 episodes from January to June 2018, streamed on Crunchyroll in Japan and received an English dub via Funimation. A sequel anime is already in the works.

For fans looking to revisit the series or dive in for the first time, the Clear Card anime remains available on Crunchyroll, making it easy to catch up before jumping into the game.
