Chiho Saitō's VS Lupin manga has reached its conclusion. The final chapter appeared in the summer issue of Shogakukan's Zōkan Flowers magazine on Tuesday, bringing the series to a close after running since the magazine's debut in 2012.

The manga offered a fresh take on Maurice Leblanc's famous gentleman thief Arsène Lupin, following the cunning protagonist through his adventures in early 20th-century Paris. Shogakukan began collecting the series in compiled volumes starting in 2014, with the seventh and final volume arriving in 2023.

Saitō remains active in the manga world. She launched Hi no Tsugai (Lovers in Scarlet) in Shogakukan's Flowers magazine last June, with the fifth volume just released on July 9. The creator previously worked on Kaguyaden (Bright Night Legend), which ran from April 2018 to January 2024, and Torikae Baya, which appeared in Monthly Flowers from 2012 to 2017.

Beyond manga serialization, Saitō is perhaps best known for her work on Revolutionary Girl Utena. She collaborated with industry veterans including director Kunihiko Ikuhara, writer Yōji Enokido, and others through the collective Be-PaPas to develop the manga and anime simultaneously. Utena's manga debuted in Ciao magazine in 1996 and ran for five volumes, later receiving North American publication through Viz Media. The series also spawned a collector's edition and a follow-up volume, Shōjo Kakumei Utena: After the Revolution, which shipped in May 2018.

VS Lupin's conclusion marks another chapter in Saitō's prolific career. The series found an audience among fans interested in literary adaptations and historical fiction, blending Leblanc's source material with manga storytelling conventions. With Hi no Tsugai already building momentum, readers can expect more work from this established creator in the months ahead.
