CUTIE STREET is stepping into the Pokémon world. The J-pop group will appear in episode 147 of Pokémon Horizons as members of the Cutie Pika Pika idol group, the anime's staff announced Friday.

CUTIE STREET already has a connection to the series—they perform the current ending theme "Cute na Kyūtai." The Cutie Pika Pika group first appeared in the CD jacket visual for that ending theme, making this guest appearance a natural crossover.

The announcement comes as Pokémon Horizons continues its "Wonder Voyage" arc, which kicked off May 22. The arc features visuals inspired by Pokémon spinoff games including Pokémon Go, Pokémon Unite, and Pokémon Sleep. A new character named Navi, voiced by Yū Serizawa, hails from Lumiose City and encounters a Ditto from an airship.

Meanwhile, the anime team released a music video for the opening theme "Sekai Tsunagare," produced by HoneyWorks and performed by the show's protagonists' voice actresses Minori Suzuki (as Liko) and Yuka Terasaki (as Roy).

Pokémon Horizons introduced completely new protagonists when it premiered in Japan in April 2023 with a one-hour special. The series has cycled through four major story arcs since then, launching new seasonal chapters regularly. The show currently airs Fridays at 6:55 p.m. JST. Netflix has been handling international distribution, releasing Season 2 in February 2025 and adding Season 3 on January 6.

The anime follows Liko and Roy as they travel with Professor Friede and Captain Pikachu, a Pokémon partner who battles alongside them. The series features starter Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet—Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly—plus the Legendary Shiny Rayquaza.

Director Saori Den and creative director Daiki Tomiyasu lead the production, with legendary screenwriter Dai Satō overseeing the scripts. The creative team includes action director Tetsuo Yajima, character designer Rei Yamazaki, and composer Conisch.
