The production team behind the anime adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa's Daemons of the Shadow Realm (Yomi no Tsugai) announced five new cast members this week, expanding the voice acting roster for the ongoing series.

Yū Shimamura and Hayato Fujii will voice siblings Natsuki and Fuyuki Kurotani respectively. Ayumu Murase joins as the character Blacklist, while Ako Mayama and Shigeru Chiba will share voice duties for Tenaga Ashinaga (Long Arms Long Legs). These characters are set to appear starting with the anime's 10th episode, airing June 6.

The series, which premiered April 4 on multiple Japanese broadcast channels and Crunchyroll, follows Yuru, a young man living in a remote mountain village with his twin sister Asa. The story centers on uncovering the mysteries surrounding Asa's mysterious confinement and the village's hidden secrets. The manga, originally serialized by Square Enix, has been licensed in English.

The main cast includes Kenshō Ono as Yuru and Yume Miyamoto as Asa, alongside a deep supporting lineup featuring Yūichi Nakamura, Misaki Kuno, Takako Honda, and several other established seiyuu.

Behind the scenes, director Masahiro Andō (Sword of the Stranger) leads the project at Bones Film. The creative team is strong across the board: Noboru Takagi handles series composition, Nobuhiro Arai designs characters and serves as chief animation director, and Kenichiro Suehiro composes the score. The opening theme "Tobu Toki" (Time to Fly) is performed by Vaundy, while yama sings the ending theme "Tobō yo" (Let's Fly).

The anime is scheduled to run for two consecutive cours (quarters), giving the adaptation substantial time to explore Arakawa's story. Crunchyroll is streaming the series with a same-day English dub, making it accessible to Western audiences alongside the Japanese broadcast.
