Discotek Media is giving two beloved anime classics the Blu-ray treatment this year. The distributor announced releases for Digimon Tamers and Hana Yori Dango, marking a solid win for fans of both franchises.

Digimon Tamers (Season 3) arrives first with an HD upscale of the English-dubbed version, timed perfectly for the series' 25th anniversary. The Japanese audio track with English subtitles will follow on Blu-ray later. Like Discotek's previous Digimon releases, the upscale maintains the quality fans expect from the distributor's catalog.

For shoujo fans, Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) is getting a comprehensive release. The TV series will include both the Japanese audio with English subtitles and an English dub, plus a bonus 30-minute anime film. Discotek has also upgraded the subtitles for this release, giving the classic shoujo romance a fresh presentation.

Discotek also announced Blu-ray releases for two live-action titles: Journey to Japan: The Kyoto Connection, an exploitation film starring Christina Lindberg that's receiving an HD remaster, and Kamen Rider: Skyrider, marking its first-ever HD disc release anywhere.

These announcements reflect Discotek's ongoing commitment to preserving older anime and live-action content that might otherwise remain inaccessible. Digimon Tamers, which aired in 2001, remains a fan favorite for its darker tone and fresh take on the Digimon formula. Hana Yori Dango, adapted from the manga by Yoko Kamio, continues to attract new viewers through anime streaming platforms.

Specific release dates weren't announced in the initial reveal, but Discotek typically provides those details through its social media channels. Fans interested in either series should keep an eye on Discotek Media's official announcements for pre-order information and availability in North America.
