SNK dropped an animated trailer this week for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, giving fans a first look at four new playable characters arriving in Season 3. The trailer introduces Rick Strowd, Duck King, Kim Kaphwan, and Laocorn Gaudeamus to the fighting game roster.

The developer confirmed Season 3's July launch back in late June, continuing the steady stream of post-launch content since the game's April 2025 debut. Prior DLC characters have maintained a monthly release schedule, with recent additions including Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star (June 28) and Mr. Karate (May 27). Earlier in the year, the game saw Wolfgang Krauser arrive in April to coincide with the game's first anniversary.

City of the Wolves has built an impressive roster mixing classic Fatal Fury faces with unexpected crossovers. Street Fighter's Ken and Chun-Li are part of Season Pass 1, alongside returning favorites like Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, and Blue Mary. The game even features real-world personalities—DJ Salvatore Ganacci and soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo both made appearances as playable characters, alongside newer fighters Preecha and Vox Reaper.

This marks the first mainline Fatal Fury game in over two decades. The last entry, Garou: Mark of the Wolves, launched in arcades way back in 1999. SNK announced the new title at EVO 2022, reigniting interest in one of the company's most beloved fighting game franchises.

Fatal Fury's legacy extends beyond games—the series inspired anime adaptations including the Fatal Fury: Legend of the Hungry Wolf OVA (1992), Fatal Fury 2: The New Battle (1993), and Fatal Fury: The Motion Picture (1994). The anime projects featured character designs from the legendary Masami Ōbari, with Ōbari also directing the third film.

City of the Wolves is available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and the Epic Games Store. With Season 3 kicking off this month and a consistent content roadmap, SNK shows no signs of slowing down support for the fighting game comeback.
