The new Hokuto no Ken -Fist of the North Star- anime is getting a second part in 2027. Warner Bros. Japan announced the continuation on Friday, as the first part wrapped up with its 14th episode. A preview video for episode 15—which will kick off the second cours—has already been released.

The anime launched in April 2026 on Tokyo MX and BS11, with all episodes streaming worldwide on Amazon Prime Video. This new adaptation marks the 40th anniversary of Tetsuo Hara's original manga, which originally ran in Weekly Shonen Jump.

Director Hiroshi Kinoshita (known for Hellsing Ultimate and Aquarion) is helming the project at TMS Entertainment, with CG-based animation that aims to stay more faithful to the source material than previous adaptations. The cast includes Shunsuke Takeuchi as the protagonist Kenshiro, alongside veteran voice actors like Saori Hayami as Yuria and Daiki Yamashita as Bat.

The production brings together experienced anime talent: Kazuhiko Inukai handles series composition, Naoki Hisatsune designs characters, and Yūki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) composes the score. NIA Animation and Kishida Studio BACU are collaborating on production.

The opening theme "Hallelujah" is performed by Alexandros, while Toshl handles the ending theme—a remix of Crystal King's original 1983 opening "Ai o Torimodose!!" The choice pays homage to the classic series while fitting the new anime's scope.

For those unfamiliar with the source material: Hokuto no Ken follows Kenshiro, a martial artist wandering a post-apocalyptic wasteland after nuclear devastation. He uses his mastery of Hokuto Shinken, a deadly martial art, to protect the weak from violent gangs. The story weaves in encounters with other masters and figures from his past, including his rival Raoh and lost love Yuria.

This new anime represents a significant investment in bringing Hara's classic work to a modern audience while honoring its legacy. Fans can expect the second part to continue adapting the manga's epic narrative starting in 2027.
