Com2uS Group has officially titled its Gachiakuta RPG adaptation and shown off gameplay during the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2026 stream. The game is now called GACHIAKUTA: BREAKOUT, moving past its working title of Gachiakuta: The Game.

The survival action RPG will hit PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam in 2027. According to the studio, the game aims to recreate the atmosphere of the anime while letting players explore the series' dystopian setting firsthand.

Gachiakuta, created by Kei Urana, debuted as a manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine back in February 2022. The story follows Rudo, a slum dweller framed for murder and exiled off the edge of a floating city into a trash-filled abyss. There, he discovers vicious monsters born from discarded waste and joins the Cleaners—a group fighting to survive and uncover the truth behind his conviction.

The manga has proven successful enough to spawn multiple adaptations. A 24-episode anime aired in Japan from July to December 2025 on CBC, TBS, and 26 other channels, with Crunchyroll streaming it globally and offering an English dub. A second season is already in the works.

With 19 compiled volumes already published in Japan, the franchise continues to expand. Kodansha USA is handling the English manga release, introducing Western readers to Urana's graffiti-influenced art style and dark survival narrative.

The gameplay reveal trailer showcased how the game adapts the anime's tone and world, though full details on mechanics and story scope remain limited. Com2uS Group, known for mobile games and live-service titles, is positioning Breakout as a full-console experience rather than a free-to-play mobile spin-off.

Fans of the anime who want a deeper dive into the Pit's lore now have something to look forward to beyond Season 2. The 2027 release window gives the studio time to refine the experience before launch.
