Aniplex of America unveiled the English dub cast and trailer for Grow Up Show: Sunflower Circus at Anime Expo this week. The original anime from Aniplex, A-1 Pictures, and Psyde Kick Studio debuts July 4 on Crunchyroll with simultaneous English subtitles and dub—a same-day release format that's become increasingly common for major streaming titles.

The English voice cast features Lizzie Freeman as protagonist Mizuka Tsurumaki, alongside Cristina Vee, Risa Mei, Jenny Yokobori, Lisa Reimold, Michelle Marie, Katiana Sarkissian, Sky Santacruz, Kira Buckland, and Cassandra Lee Morris in supporting roles. The Japanese version stars Tomoka Noda as Mizuka and Shiori Kurosaki as Ōka Kawasumi.

The story is set during Japan's economic boom in the late 1950s and early 1960s, when circus entertainment thrived. Various troupes compete across the country for a shot at the prestigious "Circus Collection" festival. The series follows the Sunflower Circus, a financially struggling troupe led by ringmaster Maria, as they discover circus prodigy Mizuka and pursue their dreams against the odds.

Kanta Kamei (Oreshura, Saekano) directs the series, with character designs by Kurehito Misaki (Saekano light novel illustrator) and scripts overseen by Takeshi Kikuchi (Skeleton Knight in Another World). The opening theme "Yurari Yureru" comes from NOMELON NOLEMON, while Aooo unit performs the ending theme "DAYS!"

In Japan, the anime airs at midnight (July 5) on Tokyo MX, BS11, and other channels, first streaming on ABEMA and d Anime Store before rolling out to additional platforms. Crunchyroll will stream the series worldwide as it airs.

This marks one of Psyde Kick Studio's early projects. A-1 Pictures launched the label in July 2025 to pursue creative freedom and explore new animation possibilities while leveraging the studio's accumulated expertise.
