A fresh take on Hatsune Miku is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 and PC next year. Announced at Anime Expo, Hatsune Miku Nendoroid Starry Party is a 3D party game developed by Crypton Future Media and Good Smile Company, releasing in 2027 on both Nintendo Switch 2 and Steam.

The game puts players in control of beloved Vocaloid characters—Miku, Rin, Len, Luka, Meiko, and Kaito—all rendered as adorable Nendoroid figurines. Players will compete in various party games, with more characters expected to join the roster. The announcement trailer featured the track "StargazeR" by Kots Beirne featuring Hatsune Miku, giving viewers a taste of the game's aesthetic and energy.

The reveal comes as part of a broader push to expand Miku's presence in Western markets. Dwango announced the "BEYOND BORDERs" global project at the same panel, a collaboration bringing together international music producers and artists with Vocaloid software. The initiative features Miku as the lead vocalist on an EP with contributions from producers like VADAKIN (Grimes), MOMBRU (Fridayy), and Byrd (Bad Bunny), alongside songwriters including Charles "Scoot" Anderson (Ariana Grande) and Cecile Believe (Charli XCX). A series of singles will roll out over the summer, with the full EP launching in fall 2026.

These announcements follow the success of COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie, a Project Sekai anime film that opened in Japan in January and found its way to North American audiences through GKIDS. The film earned roughly $2.15 million in its opening weekend in Japan and later released digitally on major streaming platforms and home media, proving there's solid demand for Miku content across formats.

With the party game arriving in 2027 alongside growing Western collaborations, it's clear Crypton Future Media and its partners are betting big on Miku's continued cultural reach. The Nendoroid aesthetic should appeal to both longtime fans and newcomers looking for lighthearted multiplayer fun.
