Home Made Kazoku, the Japanese hip-hop group behind iconic anime theme songs, is officially returning after a 10-year hiatus. The trio announced their comeback on their official website this week, confirming they've remained with their longtime label Ki/oon Music under Sony Music Labels.

The group last performed together at "The Last Live" concert on December 29, 2016. Before the formal announcement, they teased the return with surprise festival appearances, kicking off with the "Kariya Urban Fes. 2026 To the Max" festival on May 31.

Composed of vocalists Micro and KURO alongside DJ U-ICHI—all the same age—Home Made Kazoku formed in 2004 after the members met during college in Aichi Prefecture. Both Micro and KURO have ties to the United States: Micro grew up in Kentucky while KURO lived in Chicago until age 12. They debuted under a major label the same year they formed.

The group's most recognizable work comes from their anime collaborations. They performed theme songs for Bleach, Eureka Seven, and the Naruto franchise, including both Naruto Shippūden and the film Naruto Shippūden the Movie: Bonds. Their music helped define the sound of some of anime's biggest series during the late 2000s and early 2010s.

Home Made Kazoku's discography spans 11 albums, with their latest being Laughin' Road in February 2015. Before signing to Ki/oon Records, they independently released their first three albums between 2001 and 2004, establishing themselves in Japan's underground hip-hop scene before crossing into mainstream recognition through anime partnerships.

With festival appearances already scheduled for summer 2026, fans can expect to hear new material from the group soon. The reunion marks a significant moment for longtime anime and hip-hop enthusiasts who grew up with their contributions to the medium.
