MBS announced it's bringing Tamifull's How Do We Relationship? (Tsukuatte Agete mo Ii ka na) manga to the screen with a live-action series set to premiere September 10. The eight-episode adaptation marks the first major screen adaptation of the completed manga series, which wrapped up in March 2025 after running since 2018.

The story follows Miwa Inuzuka, a shy woman who dreamed of finding love but struggled in her small hometown—especially looking for a female partner. When her outgoing classmate Saeko Sawatari casually suggests they date each other as a practical solution, Miwa finds herself in unexpected territory. What starts as a convenience arrangement gradually becomes something deeper, forcing Miwa to question whether pragmatism can actually lead to real love.

Riho Sayashi plays Saeko while Sakurako Konishi takes on the role of Miwa. Directors Kana Yamada and Sunhye Hong will split episode duties, with Miki Matsugasako handling scripts. The production includes some thoughtful creative choices: Momoko Nishiyama is credited as intimacy coordinator, and Yuri Igarashi serves as LGBTQ supervisor to ensure authentic representation.

The manga, which originally serialized in Shogakukan's Ura Sunday and Manga ONE, completed its 14-volume run in April 2025. Viz Media licensed the series for English-speaking audiences, publishing the final volume on April 14.

This adaptation comes at a time when anime and manga properties are increasingly finding success in live-action formats. For fans of the manga, the series represents a chance to see these characters brought to life while maintaining the romance's emotional core. The production's attention to intimacy coordination and LGBTQ supervision suggests the creators are committed to treating the relationship with care rather than treating it as a novelty.
