The anime staff for I Became a Legend After My 10 Year-Long Last Stand announced that rock-idol girl group MEISHOHIKOKAI will perform the ending theme song "Ari Kitari na Nichijō to Kōun na Hibi e" (Onwards to Ordinary and Fortunate Days).

The series, based on Ezogingitune and illustrator DeeCHA's light novel, will premiere in July after being pushed back from its original April slot. The delay came as the production team worked to deliver "an even more enjoyable work for everyone."

The story follows Luck, a soldier forced to make a desperate stand against endless demonic forces to protect his comrades. Against all odds, he holds the line single-handedly for a full decade, eventually emerging victorious. The anime then explores how this legendary warrior navigates a peacetime world where he must balance his mythic reputation with the reality of being a stranger to everyone.

The cast includes Gakuto Kajiwara as Luck, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Erik, and Yui Ishikawa as Celliss Morton, among others. Hiroyuki Kanbe (known for Viper's Creed) directs at Studio Gekkō, with Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero) handling scripts and Majiro (Macross Delta) designing characters.

The source material has proven popular across formats. The web novel launched in June 2018 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, followed by the light novel in February 2019, which has since reached seven volumes. A manga adaptation began serialization on Square Enix's Manga UP! in August 2019 and recently reached its 19th compiled volume. Combined, the novel and manga have circulated over 4.45 million copies.

Square Enix and Comikey are handling the English release of the manga adaptation, bringing the series to Western audiences for the first time through an official channel.
