Crunchyroll is launching the English dub for Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia this Saturday, July 18, with the first two episodes dropping simultaneously on the platform.

The anime brings to life Tomato Soup's manga A Witch's Life in Mongol, set in the thirteenth-century Mongol Empire. The story follows Fatima, a Persian physician and scholar who joins the palace of Ögedei Khan, the second Great Khan. There she becomes an advisor to Töregene, one of the Khan's wives, and becomes central to the empire's political future.

The English Voice Cast

Cristina Vee voices the lead character Fatima, with Marwa Elda as Töregene and Abi Kumar as Shira. The supporting cast includes Yussef Benelbar, Cameron Wisener, Zareen Afzaal, Adrian Godinez, and Christopher Guerrero as Genghis Khan, among others. Crunchyroll's dub team was led by Voice Director Shawn Gann, with adaptation by Chris Cason.

Behind the Scenes

The anime is a collaboration between Science SARU and top creative talent. Chief Director Naoko Yamada, known for The Heike Story and A Silent Voice, leads the project alongside director Abel Góngora (DAN DA DAN season 2, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off). Character designer Kenichi Yoshida (Eureka Seven) brings the medieval palace to life, while Kanichi Katō oversees the series scripts. Kōshirō Hino provides the original music.

The opening theme "Stella" is performed by SEKAI NO OWARI, with Queen Bee handling the ending theme "Hos."

Yen Press is releasing the manga in English, making the source material accessible to dub viewers who want to continue the story. With this lineup of acclaimed directors and writers, alongside a solid voice cast, the series aims to deliver both historical intrigue and compelling character drama for anime fans looking for something different from typical fantasy fare.
