The Japan Mint is releasing two Detective Conan commemorative coin sets to mark the series' 30th anniversary. Pre-orders start June 3 and run through June 23, with shipping in early September.

The Japan Mint announced two Detective Conan commemorative coin sets honoring the beloved detective series' 30th anniversary this year. Pre-orders opened June 3 and will continue through June 23, with both sets shipping in early September.
The first option is the standard Detective Conan 30th Anniversary coin set priced at 3,500 yen (roughly $22). It includes six uncirculated coins in denominations from 1 to 500 yen, a copper alloy medallion featuring protagonist Conan Edogawa (the teenage form of high schooler Shinichi Kudo), and a special case displaying Conan alongside fellow characters Ran Mouri, Heiji Hattori, and Kazuha Toyama. Only 60,000 units will be produced.
For collectors seeking something premium, the Detective Conan 30th Anniversary 2026-Proof coin set costs 24,000 yen (approximately $150). This version features six proof coins also ranging from 1 to 500 yen denominations and a sterling silver (92.5% pure) medallion with Conan and the anniversary logo in a specially designed case. Production is limited to just 20,000 units.
Both sets are available for order exclusively through the Japan Mint website, though the mint does not ship internationally—orders are limited to Japan-based customers.
The Detective Conan franchise remains a global phenomenon three decades after launch. Creator Gōshō Aoyama first serialized the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shounen Sunday in 1994, with the anime adaptation following in 1996. The series continues to generate significant fan engagement, with Crunchyroll streaming new episodes as they air. Netflix and Crunchyroll also offer curated episode selections for viewers looking to catch up.
These commemorative coins represent one of several anniversary celebrations for the milestone year, connecting longtime fans with tangible collectibles while introducing the franchise to new audiences.
