Kodansha's K MANGA platform has expanded its catalog with the English release of Rin Mikimoto's Keepsake Heartache (Hōsekibako ni Ai wo Tsumeyō), a new shōjo manga that premiered last year.

The story centers on Mone Tsukimori, described as a slightly cheeky high schooler carrying an unshakeable connection to someone from her past. According to Kodansha's official description, the narrative traces Mone's life through key moments: humming melodies at five, discovering her treasure at ten, losing her spark at fourteen, and beginning to hear music again at seventeen. The series explores what happened in Mone's past that only her sempai Anji knows.

Mikimoto launched Keepsake Heartache in Bessatsu Friend magazine in April 2025, with the first collected volume shipping in November. The manga is now available in English through K MANGA's digital platform.

This marks Mikimoto's latest addition to K MANGA's English library. She's best known for Lightning and Romance (Inazuma to Romance), an ongoing series that debuted in Bessatsu Friend in January 2021 and has reached six compiled volumes as of June 2024. Kodansha USA has been releasing Lightning and Romance in English digitally.

Mikimoto previously concluded Kiss Me at the Stroke of Midnight (Gozen 0-ji, Kiss Shi ni Kite yo) in May 2020, with the final volume arriving in July 2020. That twelve-volume series gained recognition beyond manga—it earned a nomination in the Best Shōjo Manga category at the 43rd annual Manga Awards in 2019 and inspired a live-action film that premiered in Japan in 2019. Kodansha USA released the English translation through its final volume in January 2022.

For fans looking to follow Mikimoto's work, Keepsake Heartache now offers a fresh entry point through K MANGA's platform, which continues expanding its shōjo offerings for English-language readers.
