Kei Sanbe, best known for the acclaimed thriller ERASED, is back with a fresh manga series. Aria's Adventures in Miracleland (Kiseki no Shima no Aria) began serialization on Friday through Kadokawa's Comic Newtype digital magazine, with the first chapter now available on the KadoComi website.

The story centers on a girl who struggles to connect with others and relies solely on her father for trust. When he tasks her with keeping watch during what becomes a robbery and murder, she gets pulled into the crime and is taken away. She then awakens on what appears to be an uninhabited island, setting the stage for her mysterious adventure.

This marks Sanbe's latest project following several ongoing series. He wrapped up The 13th Footprint last December after serializing it since March 2023, with Yen Press handling the English release. He's also currently working on Reto the Protector through Square Enix's Big Gangan magazine and Snow Drop ~I Desire Your Death~ in Young Gangan, which launched in November 2025.

Sanbe's career has been defined by psychological thrillers and emotionally complex narratives. ERASED, which ran from 2012 to 2016, became a major success both in manga and adaptations. The series earned multiple award nominations including the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize Reader Award and the Manga Taisho Awards. It spawned an anime adaptation that premiered in January 2016 on Crunchyroll and Funimation, plus a live-action film and Netflix series.

His other notable works include For the Kid I Saw in My Dreams (2017-2022) and Island in a Puddle (2019-2021), both available in English through Yen Press and Kodansha USA Publishing respectively. Sanbe has consistently demonstrated a talent for crafting stories that blend mystery, character depth, and emotional stakes—qualities that appear present in Aria's Adventures in Miracleland from the start.
