The official YouTube channel for Let Me Fix You (Kimi o Tsumugu) released a promotional video on June 21, marking the anime's push toward its mid-June debut window. The short anime adaptation brings Kurihara's acclaimed yuri manga to screen, but not without considerable behind-the-scenes turbulence.

The manga itself has already found success. Kurihara self-published Let Me Fix You as a dōjin work at Comiket 99 in December 2021, and Publisher No. 9 later released it digitally in Japan starting February 2022. The story follows Tsumugi, a skilled seamstress, and Chise, a girl caught between life and death, as their bond deepens through mending and connection. English publisher BluPetal backed the manga's English release through a Kickstarter campaign in March 2026, which exceeded its $3,000 goal by raising over $28,000 and reaching all stretch goals.

Behind the anime adaptation, however, production faced disruptions. German publisher Dokico originally announced plans with Buta Productions for the short anime, with a late May YouTube premiere scheduled. That timeline shifted significantly. In May, the anime's official X/Twitter account revealed the project had separated from both Buta Productions and animation producer FAR, citing what they called "the incident" without elaborating. The remaining staff chose to delay the release to "sort things out."

The announcement clarified that while the current scope remains intact, future expansion plans are uncertain. The project was "originally intended to be much bigger" but now requires finding a new studio willing to continue development. Staff members confirmed they would complete and publish already-started, paid work despite the transition.

Director ani leads the anime with character design duties, while Kam' kamon handles art direction, Xaryen manages compositing and cinematography, and badbrix oversees in-between animation and color keys. The promotional video now showcases their work as the anime moves forward with its revised production structure.
