Madoka Magica: Walpurgisnacht Rising Film Gets August 28 Release Date

The official website for Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising has announced that the film will open in Japanese theaters on August 28.

This marks the next chapter in the beloved magical girl series that originally aired in 2011 and revolutionized the genre with its dark, psychological approach to the typical magical girl formula. The franchise follows middle school student Madoka Kaname, who encounters a mysterious creature offering to grant her wish in exchange for becoming a magical girl.
